What is required to become a driving instructor?

• Be at least 21 years old

• Have held a full UK or EU driving license for a minimum of 3 years

• Be able to read a number plate from 26.5 meters away

• Pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check

• Successfully complete all 3 parts of the DVSA’s qualifying tests:

  • Part 1: Theory & Hazard Perception

  • Part 2: Driving Ability

  • Part 3: Instructional Ability
